Signs and Symptoms of STDs: Jaundice
Jaundice, yellowing of the skin and whites of the eyes, can be a sign of the STDs, hepatitis B and hepatitis C. Both diseases can be spread through unprotected sex and intravenous drug use.
What to do When Experiencing Jaundice
If you notice jaundice, get tested for hepatitis B (if you have not been vaccinated) and hepatitis C. Hepatitis B and hepatitis C both cause inflammation of the liver and can lead to complications such as cirrhosis and liver cancer.
Private STD Testing
If you're experiencing jaundice of the skin or eyes and are at risk for contracting sexually transmitted diseases, test for gonorrhea, chlamydia, and other STDs confidentially at a local lab or through at-home STD testing. Our on-staff physicians are available to answer questions and provide medical advice.
