Signs and Symptoms of STDs: Penis Pain
Penis pain is a common symptom of sexually transmitted diseases. When associated with STDs, penis pain can occur around the opening of the penis, appear as a burning sensation while urinating, or manifest as generalized penis irritation.
What STDs could Cause Penis Pain?
Chlamydia, gonorrhea, and trichomoniasis infect a man's urethra and can all cause penis pain or discomfort. Gonorrhea can also sometimes cause pain or swelling in the testicles. Since these three infections all have similar symptoms, only STD testing can diagnose the cause.
Confidential STD Testing
If you're experiencing penis pain and are at risk for an STD, test for chlamydia, gonorrhea, or trichomoniasis in complete privacy. Confidential STD testing is available at a local lab, as well as at home STD testing options. Testing requires a simple urine sample; no painful swabs involved.
