ORDER
What is the advantage of testing for STDs with STDtesting.com over going to my doctor’s office?
With our STD testing services, you have more private and faster testing options, with the same test accuracy you’d receive from your family doctor. No insurance reporting, no long waiting periods, and no embarrassment.
I’m concerned with privacy. Is testing for STDs truly private?
Yes. From completely anonymous payment structures to at-home testing to no insurance reporting, your results are completely private and accessible through a private, online portal.
How soon can I test for STDs?
Today. Once you place an order, you’ll receive a requisition form via email. Simply print it and bring to the local testing facility selected during checkout. If you don’t have a printer, we’re more than happy to fax the form directly to the lab on your behalf.
What payment options do you offer?
We offer credit card, debit card, e-check, and cash payment options.
Do you accept health insurance?
No, we don’t accept health insurance. However, by request, we will issue an itemized receipt for insurance reimbursement.
How is the package for home testing mailed? I don't want anyone to know I'm testing for STDs.
The test kit is mailed in a discreet, unmarked package. There is no mention of STD testing or our company on the outside of the package. To order at-home STD testing, please call 866-467-7803.
TESTING
What type of sample is required to test for STDs?
Urine samples are required for gonorrhea and chlamydia. Blood samples are required for herpes, hepatitis, syphilis, and HIV.
Is preparation required before testing?
There is no preparation needed. However, it is recommended to avoid urination for one-hour prior to urine-based tests.
If I select local lab testing, do I need to test right away?
No, your order is valid for six months. However, you can test the day of purchase if you wish. With STDtesting.com, test at your convenience.
If I select lab testing, do I need an appointment?
No. You can walk into the lab at your convenience any time during operating hours. However, you must place an order with us prior to getting tested.
How long should I wait to get tested for STDs after a possible STD exposure?
Each STD test has a specific window period—the time from exposure to when the test can detect the STD in your body. Chlamydia, gonorrhea, and trichomoniasis is three to seven days. Hepatitis B, hepatitis C, oral herpes, genital herpes, and syphilis is three to six weeks. HIV is three to six months.
What is the difference between home testing and lab testing?
With STDtesting.com you have two options for STD testing; test at a local lab or test for STDs at home. With over 4000+ nationwide labs in our network, we likely have a location near your home or office. No appointments are required and most visits are typically 15-20 minutes. Alternately, test in the privacy of your home and mail the kit for processing and analysis. To order at-home testing, call 866-467-7803.
For lab testing, what do I need to bring with me to the lab?
After you place your order, you will receive an email with your requisition form and lab instructions. Download both forms and bring to the lab. If you don’t have access to a printer, we are more than happy to fax the forms directly to the lab on your behalf.
If I select lab testing, will I have to show my ID?
No. You will be identified by a private ID number.
